Don't Go Fly a Kite!
Standing at the shore line of a lake or pond or ocean, it is great fun to skip stones across the top of the water.....find just the stone, angle it just right and let it go...across the water (hopefully) and into the deep....out of your hands.

Just like prayer.
We can talk with God while holding on to our need, clinging to the tether, sending it up, yet holding on to it for dear life...just like a kite.
Or, like skipping stones, we can send our prayers and our needs right out of our hands and into the vast depth of God's resources, abilities and provisions. True, if we let it go we can't hold on to it anymore. But God needs us to let go so He can pick it up!
As I pray for Trey, I'd like to have the image of a beautiful kite soaring across the bright blue sky, over a gorgeous body of water on a warm summer day, yet I'd much rather release my concerns and requests like a stone skipping across the lake....right where they belong...deep into God's strength and power and wisdom and might!
"Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you" Psalm 55:22
Trey's doctors and nurses and teachers...
Trey's platelets...
Trey's siblings...
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." I Peter 5:7
