Are You Exhausted?

I know I am!  It's the end of summer and the beginning of school - it's a busy season!

Are you tired?  Of course you are!  Short nights and long days make for very weary people!

Here's one for you:  Are you overwhelmed?  Not exhausted and not tired....but overwhelmed?  Psalm 61:2 - "When my heart is overwhelmed..."  Yikes!  My body and my calendar and my nerves are often overwhelmed, but my heart?  Hmmmm....what overwhelms my heart?

Trey's battle with cancer was verrrrrry overwhelming!  What did we do with the burden our hearts were carrying?  We loved Jay and Rachel and Joe and Bella and Trey through it all!

May our hearts be overwhelmed for others in their journeys - and may our strength be in Jesus, our endless source of support, our Rock, "When my heart is overwhelmed, l
ead me to the Rock that is higher than I."  Psalm 61:2

A Gift

Today's message is a short and verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry sweet gift directly from God.

Believe it.

Savor it.

Live it.

Share it.

"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ."
Romans 1:7

Pray for Me

Isn't that a wonderful request to hear from a friend or loved one? The words can mean, "I value you. I trust you. I believe in your faith in God." During sickness, personal struggles, tragedy, and mounting fears, we break down our walls of isolation and welcome the power of prayer.

Imagine a child with a secret. Or a plea. Or a fear. Can you feel the child's hope and relief in approaching a parent? Anticipating comfort. Seeking wisdom and direction. Trusting for the very best outcome.

Crawl up in to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Go ahead. Tell Him what's on your mind. On your nerves. On your heart. Tell Him....and then listen to Him.  Believe He will take care of you!

"In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears."  Psalm 18:6

Wait a Minute!

Stop!  Don't click, "Like"!  Don't comment!

What would happen if we all slowwwwwwed down a bit and hesitated before we reacted to social media?  Would you even remember what you had wanted to click on?  Would you know what you complimented - or complained about?  Do you know which organizations you "follow" and what they stand for?  Can you name them?  In how many groups are you realllllllllly a member?

Instead, what if we intentionally reached out to those people personally and told them that you liked their photo....and what you liked about it.....or talked to them about how you are praying for them?

Enjoy the virtual scroll, but don't forget the personal touch.

"Let all that you do be done in love."  I Corinthians 16:14
