Trey Tuesday - February 21, 2012

Fat Tuesday!

Well, here we are again!  Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras....the day before Lent begins.
Catholic or not, Lent is a time to get our hearts and our lives ready to celebrate Easter/Resurrection Sunday.
So...in essence Fat Tuesday is a time to get ready to get ready for Easter!
Sort of like preschool is a time to get ready for Kindergarten which in turn gets your child ready for elementary school!
How much of your day is spent getting ready to get ready for school or work?

We all know the Bible verse about not worrying about tomorrow....so why all the fuss of readiness?
A quick Bible search shows over 100 results for "Get Ready!"
"Get ready a detachment of two hundred soldiers"  Acts 23:23
"Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?" I Corinthians 14:8
"That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows."  Luke 12:47
"They rose about daybreak and Samuel called to Saul on the roof, "Get ready, and I will send you on your way." I Samuel 9:26
"Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house."  Proverbs 24:27
"And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him"  Luke 9:52

God is
actually very serious about getting ready!

Trey and his family are getting ready to get ready for Trey's Make a Wish trip to Disney World next week!
Please cover them with your prayers as the next few days will pass quickly with many things to do!
First on the list is to get Trey's stomach settled!  Please pray for effective meds, hydrating liquids and peaceful recovery.
Please continue to pray for Trey's complete healing!
And please pray for Joe and Bella and their nervousness and excitement as they get ready to fly to Florida for a week of amazing fun!
And please pray for Jay and Rachel...so much on their plate...they simply deal with one part of the day at a time...
not even getting ready to get ready...just dealing with right here right now....maybe that is a good lesson for all of us!

Thanks be to God for His faithfulness throughout every day!
Praise and honor to Him who provides all that we need - even before we know it!

"Get ready! This is the day the LORD will give you victory...Has not the LORD gone ahead of you?"
Judges 4:14
