Have you ever participated in a crowd funding opportunity? Did you know someone directly affected by the cause? Or were you responding to a public plea?
We've all heard heart warming - and heart wrenching - stories of monies greatly appreciated - aaaaaand stories of monies greatly abused. So what are we to do?
Let's do a little homework as a response to 9/11 memorials. Or before Hurricane Florence comes to call. Or before the next diagnosis.
How can you help? It's going to cost you something. And I don't mean just money. It's going to require you to get a little closer to the situation....and to people. Go ahead. Call that distant relative. Knock on your neighbor's door and check on them. Have conversations with long lost friends. Give to organizations you personally know...and trust. Yes, it's going to take a LOT longer - and be a LOT messier - than swiping your card or writing a check from the comfort of your own home, but your financial investment will reap huge rewards in your and their personal and spiritual journey!
"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Hebrews 13:16
